This week we have the first of two new member "Who Am I" presentations. Gary is a neuroscience doctor who started his career by operating on the brains of house cats. His father was a big influence on him in many aspects. One of the big things that Gary admired about his dad was that he worked at JPL and manages mission to Mars and other planets. He would bring interesting exploration items home to show to the family.
Later he went to medical school and met wife Kathy on the 2nd day and been married to her since then. They will be celebrating their 40th anniversary soon.
They are blessed with 3 wonderful kids - Laura, Dan, who is an attorney and 3rd son followed dad and became an orthopaedic surgeon.
He likes surfing, plays rock-'n'-roll in a band and enjoys making surfboards in his backyard despite his neighbor's complaints :-).

Morning ritual: Coffee, read paper and go for a swim.
