Susan Treadgold delivered a wonderful talk about helping people reach peak performance. She is a mother of 2 children that go to school in Rancho Santa Fe. She was in London for 23 years working as a corporate executive in the financial world and then cancer brought her back to San Diego where she is seeking some special non-traditional treatment.

She is a San Diego and London-based holistic executive coach, founder of Treadgold Executive Development, best-selling author, award-winning speaker and transformational trainer. Faculty member for the UCSD Rady School of Management ‘Elevate’ Executive Leadership program. She is passionate about helping people create sustainable peak performance and success by helping them increase their confidence, energy, executive presence and productivity. She is an author of the book - The High Performing Woman: 52 Action Tips for Greater Confidence, Energy & Impact.

Susan joined UCSD to teach management at Rady's School. She talked about IQ vs EQ and says that Energy is lasting success and the key to success. She also talked about how E+R=O, where E stands for "Event" in life, R stands for "energetic Response" and O implies "Outcome".

The importance of energy is explained in her Energy Engagement Wheel above. She talked about an experiment with some mice for 21 days to show how sleep was important for full energy. They fed one set of mice for 21 days and no sleep, while the other set with no food but proper sleep. The result was that the ones that slept had better energy and survived, while the other set all died soon.

In the end DMSB Club President Ken Barrett presented the speaker with the Joshua certificate that represents our club DMSB donating school supplies to schools in Malawi in the name of the speaker.

"My 3 Things" by Vicky Mallett:

Vicky talked about few things that mattered a lot in her life.
1. She was from Texas and loved fishing. Her grandpa took her out always and taught her the skills.
2. She got married at age 20 to an Air Force captain Don Barryman. At that time she lived near Colorado and then Tucson. Later on, about 20 years ago she got married to husband #2 Nigel Mallett in 2007. Nigel had a big influence in her marketing career & later she got into Farmers Insurance business.
3. She ended with a funny fishing story. She and her friend Priscilla went to Dude Ranch for fishing and they were coached by a Captain Bill, who said that it will be tough to catch any fish at that time. But the ladies caught some fish that day and caught more the next day too :-). The chef noticed they had captured one large size fish and offered $100 for it but Vicky said "NO" and brought the fish back home :-).
