Wonderful BocceFest Celebration Highlights our Sponsors & Beneficiaries 
 
 
The Power behind our Celebration: Charles Foster, BocceFest 2020 Chair & Celebration Creator; Patricia Case, Director; Ken Barrett, Camerman; Phil Campanelli & Molly Fleming, Moderators.
 
 
Moderators Molly & Phil opened the evening by thanking our donors for their generosity and explaining the three areas of service their support will impact:   - Homelessness - Families in Need  - Youth at Risk.
 
     
 
President Herb also thanked our Sponsors for their support during this non-tournament & beer festival year due to Covid-19, and expressed his hope that we will continue play in 2021. Founder Chris Megison, and Andrena Lamey showed us how Solutions for Change transforms lives by solving family homelessness. We bought them a van for their produce deliveries and have served food to families in their shelters.
 

 
Cristal explained how Just in Time helps transition-age foster youth achieve self-sufficiency & well-being. As Kevin Cahill shared, we have gotten to know many personally, & we have helped set-up, furnish, and move them into new housing.
 
 
 
Feeding San Diego is the leading hunger-relief charity & food bank serving San Diego County. We have helped sort food at their distribution center.
 
 
 
Reality Changers prepares youth to become first-generation college graduates & agents of change, as explained by Pres. & CEO, Tamara Craver. Rotarian Susan Hennenfent is an active mentor with them.
 

 
Hope Without Boundaries provides meals, volunteer labor, financial aid, and support to the poor in Tijuana, Mexico. We have helped distribute food and build & paint a community center for families who live in a former dump in Tijuana. 
 

 
Nicole Mione-Green, Exec. Director of Casa de Amistad, shared how they are dedicated to the education & character development of underserved children, teens, & their families. We supplied & refurbished one of their classrooms, and created a plant-filled, recreation area.
 

 
The Community Resource Center's CEO, John Van Cleef shared how they are dedicated to providing women, children, & families critical assistance in areas of domestic violence, food programs, & housing. We help with their Holiday Baskets, have painted their community center, and support their Libre Domestic Violence Shelter. 
 

 
Veterans Village of San Diego serves all veterans and is dedicated to "Leave No One Behind".  Davey Flaherty shared how Stand Down, their annual intervention program, turned his life around. We are  proud participants in & contributors of  water for this wonderful event.           
 
 
                                                                                                                   
                                                                                          
 
Our Premier Sponsors were recognized: Ryan Essick & Scott Sims with Merrill Lynch (introduced by Rotarian Jan Parsons) and Steve Todoruk from Sprott/USA who visited us in person. Merrill Lynch has been a Premier Sponsor for 7 years, and a VIP for 3 before that, and Steve has supported our Bocce Tournament for 15 years.           
 
                                                              
 
 
 
 

 
And finally, Rotary District 5340 Governor Steve Weitzen wrapped up the evening. He shared how proud he was to be a Rotarian & member of our club, and emphasized three partners in making our tournament so successful: - The dedication of Del Mar-Solana Beach Rotary members - Our Beneficiaries, who he encouraged to "Pay it Forward" - Our Sponsors, the engine that allows us to do good in the world and our communities.
