Our Club President gave a fascinating history of the diamond trade beginning in the 4th Century right up to the recent era of manufactured diamonds. Malcom grew up in South Africa during the time of the De Beers diamond monopoly. He shared many interesting facts about famous stones, diamond mines, and the process of diamond production. He also pointed out that we are just a few miles away from the Gemologists Institute of America (GIA) which developed our current diamond grading system. We hope Malcom will follow-on with Part 2 at a future date.
